Jan 2003 - Release Of New Single - "These Colors Don't Run - So Let's Roll!"
September 11, 2002 was a very solemn day for Sheryl and Michael. They chose to mark the first anniversary of 9/11 by staying home and reflecting back on the year. Michael did not begin writing this song until about 6 months after that tragic September day. When inspiration to write finally began to emerge, Michael started composing. The song has been a work in progress ever since. The finishing touches have just been completed, wrapped up in PrestonBeachwood's Kula studio. As a result of current world events, the emotion and the power of this song had ever increasing meaning.
"There have been many apologists over the last 12 months..." says Michael, "...creative people from all walks of life seem to be walking on eggshells about their art and how 9/11 affects their art... from comedians to authors to musicians. They don't want to appear to be profiting from this tragedy. However, channeling their art to reflect emotions and events that affect us all... that is what we artists do, we reflect through our art the events that inspire and affect us and society! What everyone must realize is that we all have our purpose and role here on earth and in doing what we do. Each of us has our best-suited talent, our passions - that which defines us. And each of us expresses our emotions by our craft and all of us are in service in some way or another to our fellow human beings - to each other. Authors write books, musicians write songs, and photographers take pictures - and many are compelled to express their emotions about 9/11 through their craft, art and careers. It is only natural that composers will be writing songs about this for some time to come." Michael continues... "It is important to me to share this song to as many people as I can - and the internet is an incredible medium! What better way to share this song and get it out there!"

Dec 2002 - Redesign of PrestonBeachwood.com!
This week marks a full seven years of web presence on the Internet. PrestonBeachwood began their first webpage in 1995, a time when most people had not yet heard of the "web" or knew what it represented for the future. PrestonBeachwood started their website upon the very wise advice of a good friend who said, "The web is the future of music and multimedia, you have to have a presence there with your music!" Taking that advice was the best move that Sheryl and Michael made that year in 1995. (Their best move in 1994 was in coming to Maui!) PrestonBeachwood.com's redesign incorporates many new features, including fun new categories and pages, easy and clear navigation through their pages, more pictures, music clips and video clips, and providing an increased amount of information about themselves and their music. Leading the wave of the MP3 revolution, Sheryl and Michael are making available their MP3s, for sale INDIVIDUALLY! "Very few other sites are doing that right now," says Michael, "but it is a necessary direction that all of the record companies NEED to consider." PrestonBeachwood.com by far surpasses most other artist websites in its thoroughness, simplicity of design and ease of navigation. Please let us know what you think! Your feedback is very important to us. Feedback

Sept 6th, 2002 - Meeting with Randy McGowan, of Memphis Exchange
Greg McAnally introduced his good friend, Randy McGowan, to Sheryl and Michael on Friday. Although everyone was pressed for time with very busy schedules that day, Randy and Sheryl and Michael were able to chat for about 30 minutes. Randy is a music veteran of over 30 years, and has played music with just about everyone in the music industry. His current band is "Memphis Exchange", headquartered in the Bay Area in California, PrestonBeachwood's old stomping ground. Randy's experience and background made for some interesting conversation. Of special interest to Sheryl and Michael is that Randy is now directing his expertise in efforts to showcase songwriters and their talents and help them to place their material with other established performers. PrestonBeachwood is delighted at meeting Randy, and anticipates a very fruitful future. We will keep you updated as that relationship builds!
