His lyrics are always thoughtful and meaningful, ranging from love, loss, hope, happiness, spirit, animal rights, environment, religious and so on. Michael finds himself ever the empath, understanding and seeing both sides of almost any issue or subject, and thus writing about it as though having gone through it himself.

Michael has a total comic side as well. His lighter side songs take humorous views at various social issues, incorporating great messages and truths as he goes.
