Sheryl was born in Napa, California. Raised in L.A., Sacramento, and then her family moving to Oregon for her teen years. From a very early age, Sheryl was interested in music and acting, couldn't keep her hands off of the keys of the family piano when she was four years old. Paid for her own classical piano lessons by working part time in a stable, she quickly mastered the keyboard. Then, she proceeded to learn flute, guitar, violin and ukulele. She also participated in numerous plays in high school, loving the live stage.

Sheryl took some time off to be a full-time Mom, raising her two children, Will and Laura. The music bug never went away, however, and when her kids were around 10 and 11, she again began her music, only this time, she was not just content to play classical, but began immersing herself in all styles of music. It was at this time that she began writing as well.

Today, with her husband, Michael Beachwood, Sheryl Preston lives on Maui, and is blessed with having a very versatile career. She performs live, both cover music and originals, writes, produces and records in the couple's Kula studio, and is also once again spreading her wings and doing some live stage work. Her most recent project is landing a role in Maui Light Opera Company's 2003 play, Phantom by Maury Yeston, directed by John Langs, from Los Angles, California.

Sheryl's current emphasis on her music career is twofold: First in producing and shopping her catalog of original music to established singers and entertainers... Her styles include classical, pop, rock, hip hop and Hawaiian songs; Second, in performing her original songs as a soloist and as a duo with her husband, Michael.
